It is the norm to wait in the drive-thru line for 20-30 minutes. There was a period of time when McDonalds drive-thru orders were taken by a call center in California! Starting pay at McDonalds here starts at something like $10.00 per hour - and you cherry-pick your hours.
It's a strange situation in our little town of approximately 5,000 people. Extensive drilling in the Bakken and Three Forks oil field formations lure away an already limited workforce with the promise high-paying jobs. The kicker is that people aren't able to move here for employment due to lack of housing.
If you live in Sidney, Montana and you can't find a job, then you haven't even tried. Every business has a Help Wanted sign up in the window.
